Lions Poor Performance is One Cause for Calvin Johnson's Retirement

[Jul 12 2017 GMT]

Calvin Johnson is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, second overall in the2007 NFL Draft, and played for the Lions for all of his professional career. More information is on where fast and safe madden mobile coins are provided.

Johnson had a rare combination of size (6 ft 5 in and 239 lbs), catching ability, speed (40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds), strength, leaping ability, and body control. His nickname, "Megatron", a Transformers character, was given to him by Lions teammate Roy Williams, and the name caught on with fans.

On March 8, 2016, Johnson announced his retirement from the NFL after nine seasons.

Like many decisions, Johnson’s retirement is not due to only one reason. Maybe injury is one reason, but constant mediocre performance of the Detroit Lions is also one reason.

When being asked whether he has considered joining other teams, “I have to say I considered,” said Johnson, “just like when playing basketball, all the players create a strong team together, but in NFL, I have no freedom to just leave, I’m caught in Detroit by the contract”.

This is not the first time Johnson mentioned the reason he can’t play in other teams. The contract is the real problem.
